I wanna like it, I really wanna like it.
I know I can, I know I can!!
Just gotta keep going. Maybe I can develop a rhythm.
I bought a few courses, they make it seem so easy.
Ok, everything is all set up. Now, what???
So, I shared in a past edition that I struggled with English Class in high school. But, I think I can pull off the basics now. I did graduate from high school, university, grad studies, and have been a teacher for 28 years.
So why is it almost impossible to sit down and write this newsletter without feeling anxiety? Also, why do the words just flow sometimes, and the anxiety turns to excitement. Maybe it’s just the writing process.
I’m constantly second-guessing my process, but I’m going to keep going, pushing forward, and eventually, I’ll find the groove. I’ll keep grinding gears...
I’ll continue to update my weekly progress and thoughts in my projects section, I’m playing around with different ideas for some curated content in my “Tim Time” section.
Special shout out to @Deepika - thanks for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. It’s the little gestures that make the most impact!
Project Updates This Week
Foodie Call is taking a break.
I took inspiration from a @Yoroomie video on youtube and put my spin on the build. I still think it could be a great business for the right person, or for the right partner. If you’re reading this and you see potential, hit the reply and we can chat. Otherwise, this will sit in the hopper of examples of things I can build, and this is a great MVP for the chef-foodie marketplace, especially during these crazy Covid times.
So now it’s on to the next project.
Title:EasyLanding.co
Purpose/Problem: Easy Landing is going to be a showcase of Landing Pages, built with Carrd. I want to show examples of things that can be built, and from a personal standpoint, I want to study really good landing pages.
I’ve taken inspiration for this project from a few places, one being this Business Insider article, and the other Deck of Card by @markbowley.
Goal: My 1st goal is to build out the 1st four landing pages before the end of December 2020.
Resources: I’m really in the process of fleshing out my resources to complete these pages. I’ll update more in the future.
Procedure: Build, build, build.
Observations and Data: I’m willing to pay for some tutorials and scripts that add to the functionality of Carrd, but I’m more interested in searching for them first - so that is taking a bit of my time for now.
I’m really leaning towards creating the tutorial videos of each page next - there is a real thirst for online education within the no-code community, and I’m a teacher. Seems like a good fit.
Conclusion/Summary: Just started - so conclusions yet.
Tim Time
Micro Authority - might be the perfect application of Carrd. This is another great Indie Hackers blog entry, and it talks about the Micro Everything trend in software development. Indie Hackers is an absolute gold mine.
I read a ton of newsletters every week, and I always wish that I would have saved, tagged, and annotated the links - so I’m starting a new project to make myself more efficient - I don’t have an official name for now. Coming soon.
My crazy way of keeping track of links is to text them to myself. Here is the list of “interesting” things I've sent myself this week.
disclaimer: They are not in any particular order or category - much the same way my brain works!! 😂
